KNOCK THE VOTE 2018

This ad discusses the dangers of young people not voting by mocking them. They use reverse psychology to influence us to vote. In Canada when you turn 18, you automatically have the right to vote. Voting is something that should be taken seriously, which is why this ad should not be taken lightly. This leads to older people becoming afraid of what's coming in the future. The older generation is complaining because of the fact that we, the young people, are not aware of the dangers of picking the wrong candidate.

For instance, a lot of people ages 18-25 chose Justin Trudeau because of the fact that he was legalizing marijuana. Although his intentions are good, people are abusing and taking advantage of this legalization. Our decisions will affect our country as a whole, and some damages cannot be undone. We as a population will later have to deal with the consequences and suffer with what our future gives us.

In November of 2016, Donald Trump was elected to become the president of the United States. Many things were promised to the citizens of the US but citizens later complained due to the many promises not being kept. Although we are not in the United States, the government's choices are also affecting us Canadians directly due to our connections and ties to the US. For example, when the United States threatened North Korea, North Korea threatened to bomb the United States which leads to Canada playing a role in retaliation or salvation.

I believe that this ad's goals were to persuade the youth to go vote because of how Donald Trump and other politicians are running things. The youth are our future and can hopefully see that Donald Trump is not fit for the role of president. He has made more bad decisions than good and hasn't really offered any smart decisions to help the country or the world. So by getting the youth to vote, our chances of survival and chances of a better society will increase.
